How to set up a cloud server to autoscale?

The autoscale option helps you avoid downtime in times of sudden traffic spikes. To activate this functionality, go to your Client Area > Services > Hosting > Manage for your Cloud account > Autoscale tab. Under CPU and RAM, select how many cores of CPU and GB of RAM should be added respectively when autoscaling happens.

Your cloud server will scale up automatically when reaching 75% usage of the last available CPU or RAM unit. Because the server will autoscale every time its resource usage reaches the defined threshold, we recommend setting a monthly cap from the drop-down menus in the CPU and RAM sections.

The monthly cap is the sum of the resource units currently available on your cloud and the maximum amount of units that will be added when the autoscaling event happens, based on the setting you have made in field ADD. Configuring the cap appropriately allows you to prevent going above your allocated budget for the server resources.

This way you will ensure that the added resource units won’t go above the limit you set and your charges won’t grow unexpectedly.
